A former convent run by the Sisters of Mercy, El Convento Bed and Breakfast is owned and operated by the Sangre de Cristo Parish in historic San Luis, Colorado. The two story adobe structure houses the Parish offices, classroom, kitchen and dining area on the first floor. The second floor features four spacious guest rooms, each individually designed with a southwest motif and kiva fireplace.  The high ceilings are covered in traditional vigas and latillas. The Hispanic style furniture and art is the work of local artisans. Amenities include a private bath, with double/queen beds, or twin beds for each room.

"A kiva fireplace filled one corner; artwork graced the walls, a carved angel watched over me as I slept...I wasn't disappointed, spending the night at an inn that had once been a convent for Catholic nuns".     -  Recommended Country Inns, Doris Kennedy
