El Mesón de La Centinela is a charming guest inn for weekend or vacation getaway. Nestled in the foothills of historic Chimayó in the heart of northern New Mexico, El Mesón is located in the peaceful surroundings of Centinela Ranch in the adobe home of the late master weaver, Jake Trujillo and his wife Isabelle. Three individual units are available. El Mesón provides a perfect venue for family reunions or small group retreats.

Lodging Style and Amenities

Each spacious accommodation is accented with vigas, a romantic fireplace, and outdoor patios. Trujillo weavings and Oviedo woodcarvings and bronze sculptures decorate each room. Two units provide queen size beds and sofa sleepers, and either a full kitchenette or access to a full kitchen. The third unit has a king size bed, double jacuzzi bath with shower, a gas log fireplace, and access to a full kitchen. Each unit has it's own portal and patio. El Mesón de La Centinela is located on NM 76 (the High Road to Taos), and is centrally located between Santa Fe and Taos, and close to five Indian Pueblos.

Recreational Opportunities

Guests can choose to participate in individual tours of award-winning artists' weaving or woodcarving and bronze studios on the ranch. Centinela Ranch is dedicated to raising heirloom breeds of domestic livestock like the Mammoth Donkey, Churro Sheep and the Spanish Colonial Horse. Guests are invited to visit the animals, and participate in seasonal activities such as sheep shearing, apple picking, chile roasting and ristra tying.

Rate Range: $85 to $95/night + tax for two persons
