Enchanted Forest is the best place to experience wilderness on groomed, signed trails.... with a nice warming hut!

Amazing views, fabulous trails and great skiing. The best cross country trails in the southern rockies and the four corners.Rentals, lessons, day lodge and rental yurts for overnight stays available. Best views of wheeler peak in the state. Amazing hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding in the summer.

Trail System

32 kilometers of groomed cross-country skiing trails, 18 kilometers of snowshoe trails, 5 kilometers of trails groomed for dogs and their owners. Best view is at the end of Long John and Northwest Passage–the piece de résistance!

Best Access and Parking Area

Highway 38, 3 1/2 miles from Red River, New Mexico. There are two parking areas at the trailhead.

Approximate Operating Season: Late November (or early December) to the end of March

Rules and Regulations

Commercial Cross Country Ski Area. Trail fee required. No dogs on main trails
