Far View Lodge is located on a high mesa 15 miles inside Mesa Verde National Park, conveniently close to the park Visitor Center. The traditional Western decor of the lobby and dining room, fantastic views, warm hospitality and superb dining welcome you for an unforgettable vacation.

The lodge was designed to reflect the true essence of Mesa Verde, with solitude all around you and freedom from the distraction of in-room TVs or cell phone service but plenty of wildlife watching and from your private balcony there are fabulous stargazing opportunities. For your convenience, our lobby features free wireless Internet.

The lodge comprises 150 rooms all with private balcony and private bath.  Choose from our Standard Rooms, with an in-room refrigerator, or upgrade to our Kiva Rooms with handcrafted furniture and pillow-top mattress

Lodging Style and Amenities

Far View Lodge offers spectacular views from private balconies, some views into 4 states. Wildlife watching and stargazing are highlights of a Far View Lodge stay.

Nightly ranger lectures and activities during season. Artist-in-residence demonstrations throughout the season featuring native artisans and performers. Exceptional Native handcrafts are offered in 4 locations throughout the park Meeting space for 50 - 60 participants.

Guided Tours of the Park are available from the lodge. Step into history with guided tours of Mesa Verde's spectacular archaeological sites and cliff dwellings. Half-day tours are ranger-guided and provide a comprehensive park experience covering the history, culture and archaeology of the Ancestral Puebloan people who created communities, within the alcoves and mesa tops of Mesa Verde. Tours include a walk through of Cliff Palace - Mesa Verde's largest cliff dwelling. The Far View Explorer tour is a 5 hour tour of mesa top sites spanning 600 years, a visit to the Mesa Verde Museum and includes lunch. 

Far View Lodge is home to the award-winning restaurant, the Metate Room. The lodge also offers easy access to the park's 5 hiking trails and Wetherill Mesa, the remotest part of the park.

Rate Range: $120 - $155 per night plus 5.25% tax

Driving Directions

Mesa Verde National park entrance is located 8 miles east of Cortez, CO and 39 miles west of Durango, CO on HWY 160. From the entrance, drive 15 miles to Far View Lodge,  located across the road from the Chapin Mesa Visitor Center.
