Located within Farmington's Animas Park, the Riverside Nature Center is nestled into the Bosque providing a wonderful location for wildlife viewing.  Visitors observe birds and animals from the nature trails throughout the park, Animas River Walk trails or from the Nature Center's large windows overlooking the wetlands.  Eagles, heron and over 100 other species of birds live near the Nature Center and are seen daily as are deer, bats, skunks, fox and prairie dogs.

The Riverside Nature Center is a great location for wildlife viewing and education.  You can pickup bird feed and binoculars from the knowledgeable staff to enhance your self guided experience or visit during a guided activity like bird watching, wildlife walks, nature walks or moonlight walk.  Various educational programs are held throughout the year for all ages.

Exhibits within the Nature Center feature the plants and animals of the riverside with an emphasis on historic uses and ecosystems.  Several photo and art exhibits are displayed at the center throughout the year. Outside the Nature Center you will find herb and Xeriscape demonstration gardens, wetlands and miles of nature trails to walk.
