Scott and Angie Graber, and Steve and Sue Friedman, (Angie's parents) began construction on the Brewery in May of 2005.  After 10 months hard work remodeling the space, the four family members opened the San Luis Valley Brewing Company in March 2006.  Steve and Sue have since retired, and Scott and Angie have stayed in Alamosa and oversee the growing business.  The Brewery will celebrate "5-Years of Great Beers!" the first week of March 2011!    

Our brewery recycles/re-uses glass bottles that are returned to us after consumption.  We also invested in a professional energy analysis, and have implemented many of the energy saving  recommendations from this analysis.  Finally, the brewery has been selected by Kromwell Environmental for installation of a solar on our building.  This project is slated for completion summer of 2011 and will provide 5-7% of the Brewery's enegy needs via green energy.      

While health codes restrict animals in the dining room of restaurants in CO, we have an outdoor seating area where we are glad to serve you a beer and your pet, a bowl of water.  We are dog lovers and you can check out our two loving labs in a great book published in 2009, "Colorado Brew Dogs".
