The Stations of the Cross are a series of graphic bronze sculptures meditating on the last hours of Christ's life—his judgment, suffering, and death. Included is his Resurrection, the "15th Station." The Shrine is located on a mesa in the village of San Luis de la Culebra, the oldest town in Colorado.  Walking the shrine trail amidst the sweet scent of sagebrush and olive trees, an impressive collection of bronze works of art by sculptor Huberto Maestas leads up to "La Capilla de Todos Los Santos." This unique adobe chapel overlooks the arid landscape. Nearby the poetic pose of a 15-foot "Resurrection," reaching upward to the heavens, graces "La Mesa de la Piedad y de la Miscericordia," the Hill of Piety and Mercy. 

Seasons Open: Outdoors—open year-round

The shrine is designed to be climbed up a dirt walking trail to interact with each station (sculptures). There is a driving entrance to the top of the shrine and chapel located one mile north of San Luis on Hwy 159. Turn left one mile north of San Luis onto a dirt road. At the top of the hill, at the first fork in the road, turn left, south back towards Town. This will take you directly to the stations on the top of the hill.

No dogs are allowed on the trail, except service dogs.
