The Dragonfly Cottage at Desert Willow Bed and Breakfast
Tucked into a quiet, mountain canyon with sheer cliffs rising from the river along New Mexico's Jemez Mountain Trail, the Dragonfly Cottage at the Desert Willow Bed & Breakfast is a nature-lovers' delight. Nestled on the banks of the Jemez River, the Cottage is a short drive from the 95,000 acre wildlife refuge called the Valles Caldera National Preserve, Chaco Canyon and Bandelier National Monument. Large cottonwoods shade the waterwise gardens full of native and native-like plants, and the views from your private deck are spectacular. the Dragonfly Cottage is an ideal get-away for New Mexicans and a peaceful destination for travelers looking for an authentic New Mexico experience.
This lovely, two bedroom, one bath Cottage is smoke free, with a complete kitchen, a tub with a shower, a wood burning fireplace and a large, redwood deck. Ideal for families, small groups or couples, Dragonfly Cottage offers a charming, private getaway. The brick floors, hand-made custom pine cabinets and ceramic tile create a cheerful ambiance in our little, 800 square foot Cottage. The windows bring in the stunning cliff and river views, and the redwood deck stretches almost from one end of the Cottage to the other. Breakfast is served starting at 6:30 AM during the week and 7:00 AM on weekends at Highway 4 Coffee and Bakery just over a mile up the road in the heart of Jemez Springs. A perfect "base camp" for a discovery trip to the Four Corners and northern New Mexico and a popular hideaway for honeymooning newlyweds, the Dragonfly Cottage is the place to make memories.

We retired from Albuquerque to Jemez Springs 14 years ago and have owned our bed and breakfast for the same amount of time. Two years ago we closed the rooms in our home and now have just the Dragonfly Cottage available for guests. After opening the Hwy. 4 Coffee and Bakery, guests began eating breakfast there.
The terrain at the Dragonfly Cottage makes access problematic, though not impossible.
We recycle at our locally run recycling center. Our gardens are waterwise, watered from the acequia and full of native plants.
Pets with well-behaved owners are always welcome.
