The "Mermaid Cottage" is located at the base of "Angel Rock Ranch", 13 miles northwest of      Del Norte, Colorado. This property is adjacent to national forest and BLM land, so not many neighbors and lots of beautiful nature! This area is perfect  for  mountian biking, dirt biking, hiking, rock climbing (we are only about 5 miles from Penietente Canyon), Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, reading of course, and animal watching (be sure to bring your camera) just to name a few!  The "mermaid Cottage is small (only 12' by 16') yet very artistically done! It is built out of Cordwood and recycled bottles and full of original art. (Mostly Mermaids!) a very sweet private little get-a-way!

The "Mermaid Cottage" sleeps one 1-2 adults (sorry due to the fragile nature no young children).

A very comfy queen size bed.

Includes a small frig. and one burner for making coffee and for very light cooking. we also include a french pot and enough fresh ground  "Organic" coffee for your morning wake up.

*There is a outside "Kiva" and Barbecue

Season Open: April through Oct. and we will open the cottage for you in the winter with a 3 day minimum stay.

The "Mermaid Cottage" is the perfect little base camp for all your San Luis Valley explorations!Which could include, Biking, hiking, rock climbing,  snowshoeing, skiing, star gazing, animal & bird watching, dirt biking, a.t.v.ing and rock hounding all from your front door. This area is a nature lovers paradise!

Close day trips might include: The Sand Dunes National Park, River Rafting, Soaking in any of the three hot springs, A visit to Creede which is a beautiful old mining town and their Repertory Theater, Toltec and Cumbres Scenic Railways, Museums,The Old Spanish Trail (which the "Peace of Art Cafe" is the Trail host for.) Wild life Sanctuaries, fishing, National Parks and Preserves, Golfing, Shopping and Dinning 

Rate Range: One night stay is $149.-, Two night stay is $249.- For each additional night add $100. dollars per night

* take a left on 33 Rd. go 6 miles

Beautiful Road with the “Elephant Rocks” on your left.

 At 2.5 miles you will enter Saguache County the road changes to A38.

Note: Speed limit on this Road is 45 mph

*Take a Left at A32 go 2.9 miles

*Take a right at “Boulders Edge”

*Take a left into the first driveway

on the left, #3201 Boulders Edge

Heading up driveway take the 1st left which will curve around to the left.

We are sorry, a wheelchair wouldn't work well up here. Although the terrain is very people friendly, there is a gravel front yard to consider.

The "Mermaid Cottage" is located on "Angel Rock Ranch" The entire ranch runs off of Solar Energy, So it is truely peaceful and gives one a true sense of well being.

This cute little cottage was built from standing dead cottonwood that came from our girlfriends buffalo ranch, also wine and beer Bottles from the 'Peace of Art Cafe" and friends, were recycled by becoming part of the walls. We use nontoxic dish soap and laundy detergent and cleaning products. The furnishings are antique, the sweet black porcelain sink was found in a second hand store by a friend and we gave it a second life by inbedding it into a vintage vanity. The sliding glass door was saved from going to a dump and all the windows were samples that no longer served a purpose. All the large Wood beams were locally milled, and we did hand build it ourselves.
