Tierrawools is a weaving shop and studio located in the historic village of Los Ojos, New Mexico. This area of Northern New Mexico has been designated a National Historic Site.

About this Establishment

Tierra wools began as a cooperative about 30 years ago to keep the Spanish arts of weaving, spinning and hand dyeing alive. We weave with wool from the Churro Sheep (the first sheep to come here with the Spanish in the 1750's). All of our yarns are handdyed here in the Studio either with natural dyes or with our own formulas of commercial dyes.  We specialize in rugs, blankets, runners etc. woven in the traditional (and original) Spanish Rio Grande style and in unique and beautiful Tapestry styles as well.  We have demonstrations, tours and classes available throughout the summer months. Come in and appreciate the beauty and artistic mastery of our unique and beautiful  products.  We also show case local artists of all kinds.
