Two Grey Hills Trading Post

This is a 100+ year old trading post, established on the Navajo Nation in 1897, about 10 miles west of Newcomb off of US 491 (between Shiprock & Gallup) is one of the oldest functional trading posts on the Navajo Nation. It is particularly known for it's internationally famous "Two Grey Hills" Navajo rugs, which are considered the finest weaving on the Navajo Nation, often selling for between thousands to tens of thousands of dollars! The trading post is managed by Mr. Les Wilson, and boasts a herd of Churro sheep, whose different colors of wool allow natural wool for traditional Two Grey Hills rug colors, with no dyes needed. The original stone and adobe store, listed in the New Mexico Register of Cultural Properties, still serves the local Navajo population today.
